I remember rather vividly the scene: it’s 2003, San Diego, California. A bunch of guys and girls from our youth group had just encountered God in a deep and meaningful way. Much had happened on the trip, with God doing a lot of great things, and one evening my pastor asked me to lead our group in prayer. Eagerly I accepted, and began to lead us in a prayer. With great conviction and fervor I prayed, until I noticed a young girl in our group fidgeting. Filled with anger, I called her out on it. In the middle of prayer, I yelled at her for moving*.
